CA Investigator Of The Year Is From The East Bay

His unit specializes in investigating sexual assaults and other sensitive crimes.

EAST BAY — Detective Kernan Ng of the Alameda County Sheriff's Office is this year's recipient of the prestigious "Patrick O'Sullivan Outstanding Investigator of the Year Award" presented by the California Sexual Assault Investigators Association in Pismo Beach last weekend.

For the past six years, Detective Ng has served in the Special Victims Unit at the Eden Township Substation in San Leandro. The unit investigates Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault, Child Abuse, Elder Abuse, Runaway Juveniles, and other sensitive cases.

According to the sheriff's office, "Detective Ng has made an outstanding contribution through sustained achievement and makes a considerable difference in the profession of law enforcement, specifically the investigation/prosecution of sexual assaults."

Detective Ng was hired by the sheriff's offie in 2013. His past assignments include custody, patrol, and Academy Instructor.
