Cooling Off In The Pool: Photos Of The Day

SAN LEANDRO, CA — Liz Whitt's family knows how to cool off during a heat wave. These photos were taken during last week's blast of heat as kids, big and small, cooled off in the pool.

Swimming works up an appetite. Rather than heating up over a stove or grill, Liz turned to Filipino takeout for a post-swim feast.
