Earthquake Near San Leandro Shakes Alameda, Contra Costa Counties

SAN LEANDRO, CA— A magnitude 2.9 earthquake near San Leandro rattled parts of Alameda and Contra Costa counties on Wednesday morning.
The quake's epicenter was identified about 2 miles northeast of San Leandro, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The jolt was felt from as north as Concord all the way to Hayward.

A magnitude 3.2 earthquake rumbled near San Leandro on the afternoon of Feb. 6. That one was felt in other Bay Area communities including Oakland and Dublin.
