Kaiser Chops East Bay Jobs
As it eliminates dozens of jobs in California, Kaiser reports that it is not closing any facilities.
OAKLAND, CA — Fresh off a three-day strike by thousands of Kaiser Permanente workers last week, Kaiser Foundation Hospitals revealed plans to ax 28 East Bay jobs at its Oakland headquarters and at facilities in Pleasanton, according to the East Bay Times. In addition, Kaiser will cut 21 jobs in Southern California bringing the Golden State total to 49.
All of these layoffs will be permanent, with no option to transfer to other jobs.
The job losses were disclosed in a WARN notice, an official filing with California's Employment Development Department.

Kaiser human resources director Christine Neubauer said in the WARN filing that no locations are closing.
