Police Department Honors Staff and Community Members
Promotions, achievements and appointments made by local law enforcement and community members of San Leandro.

On Aug. 16, the San Leandro Police Department celebrated the accomplishments of the following staff and community members:
Retirement
Captain Steve Pricco retired after providing 23 years of dedicated service to our community. Captain Pricco successfully served 31 total years in law enforcement. During his time with SLPD, he served in a variety of different assignments and rose through the ranks.
"Steve was an important member of our Command Team," said Chief Spagnoli. "I was impressed with his experience and his work ethic. We will miss him.”
Promotions
Lieutenant Greg Lemmon was promoted to the position of Captain and he will manage the Services Division of the Police Department. He will oversee the day to day operation of the Communication Center, our Records Section as well as the jail.
Sergeant Louis Torres was promoted to Lieutenant and he will transfer into the Patrol Division as a Watch Commander.
Acting Sergeant Derrel Ramsey was promoted to the position of Sergeant and will continue working in the Patrol Division..
Appointments
Denise Joseph (formerly a dispatcher) will be San Leandro's new Crimes Analyst. This position will enable our police department to operate more efficiently and strategically through close analysis of crime data.
“Our resources are limited and we have to deploy our staff in the most strategic manner possible. Having a crime analyst will help us to accomplish this," said Spagnoli.
Jennifer Crosby and Leslie Carr were appointed as Community Service Officers.
Elenee Menagias was appointed to the position of Administrative Specialist who will work out of the Chief's office with the command staff.
Achievements
Officers Kalsbeek, Robertson and Vincent successfully completed their probationary periods and are currently assigned to the Patrol division.
Community members Russell and Janet Gebhardt were acknowledged for their ongoing support of our organization and its programs. They are both graduates of our citizen's academy and they stay involved and support additional programs.
City employee Kerry Hocker was recognized for her ongoing support to the Police Department.
"This is a very exciting time for our organization," said Lt. Randall Brandt. "We are constantly implementing new ideas to enhance the services we provide in our community."
