SAN LEANDRO, CA — A two-alarm fire that ripped through a San Leandro home Monday evening and displaced two families is being investigated as suspicious, according to the Alameda County Fire Department.

Fire crews arrived on the 900 block of Williams Street a few minutes before 7:30 p.m. to find a home engulfed in flames and threatening nearby structures, officials said. No firefighters or neighbors were injured in the blaze, and crews remained on scene through the night to monitor for flare-ups.

In an update shared Tuesday morning, fire officials said the fire's cause remained under investigation but preliminary information suggested its origin was suspicious.
