San Leandro Teen Arrested in Connection with Alleged Purse Snatch Robbery

Police said the suspect was holding one of the victim's stolen credit cards when he was apprehended.

UNION CITY, CA — Police in Union City last week arrested a 17-year-old in connection with a robbery. The suspect has been identified as a 17-year-old San Leandro resident.

On August 30 at 1:15 p.m., officers with the Union City Police Department were dispatched to the area of Dyer Street and Alvarado Boulevard on a report of a robbery. Police said the suspect pushed a woman to the ground and stole her purse.

The victim was able to give a good description of the suspect's clothing and the direction he fled, and police located the suspect in a business a short time later.
