San Leandro's Incoming Mayor, Council Members Take Oath Of Office

The current city council welcomed new council members and certified the results of the November General Election during its regular meeting.

SAN LEANDRO, CA — San Leandro's newest mayor and three council members were sworn in during the Dec. 12 city council meeting.

Incoming Mayor Juan Gonzalez III, District 1 Council Member Celina Reynes, second-term District 3 Council Member Victor Aguilar, Jr., and District 5 Council Member Xouhoa Bowen all took the oath of office.

A family member or friend swore in each incoming elected official. After the oaths of office, the officials articulated brief comments of gratitude and policy visions. The meeting recording can be viewed online here.

According to the city, before the oaths of office, council voted to certify the November 2022 General Municipal Election.
