The former Castro Valley resident, television host and political commentator talks to students from her alma mater, Castro Valley High.
Six student journalists from recently scored an exclusive interview with MSNBC television host Rachel Maddow, who grew up and went to school in Castro Valley.
Maddow was in the Bay Area to speak about her first published book Drift: The Unmooring of Political Military Power.

Before taking the stage at Berkeley's Martin Luther King Middle School, Maddow sat with six students from Castro Valley High's Olympian to talk about what it was like growing up in Castro Valley and how she stumbled into a media career.
