Woman, 2 Sons Injured in Suspected DUI Crash

All three are still being treated at a hospital.

OAKLAND, CA — A suspected drunk driver crashed in East Oakland early this morning, injuring herself and her two sons, according to police. The woman in her 40s was driving in the area of 44th Avenue and San Leandro Street at about 1:10 a.m. when she struck multiple parked cars and poles until the car overturned, police said. The woman and her two passengers, both men in their 20s, were all taken to the hospital with injuries.

Her son-in-law, who was sitting in the back seat, was critically injured in the crash. The woman and her other son, who was sitting in the front seat, were injured less severely.

All three are still being treated at a hospital. Investigators suspect that the woman was drinking prior to the crash.Oakland police are asking anyone with information about the crash to contact traffic investigators at (510) 777-8570.
