Richard Schulhof, LA County Arboretum CEO speak at Trojan Affiliates
Sustainability and water conservation, preserving the Arboretum's rich history...the essential role of plants in sustaining life on Earth.
RICHARD SCHULHOF CEO OF THE LOS ANGLES COUNTY ARBORETUM TO SPEAK AT USC TROJAN AFFILIATES IN PERSON YEAR END CELEBRATION
Richard Schulhof, CEO of the Los Angeles County Arboretum will speak at the USC Trojan Affiliates Year End Celebration on Thursday, May 5, 2022. His topic will focus on the Highlights of the Arboretum. The meeting will take place at the Peacock Café at the Los Angeles Arboretum, 301 N. Baldwin, Arcadia, between 5:00-7:30 p.m. with the program and dinner. The dinner will be catered by the Fresh Gourmet Restaurant. The program will include an Installation of the 2022-2023 Board.
Richard Schulhof has served as CEO of the Los Angeles County Arboretum since 2009. He previously served as deputy director of Harvard University’s Arnold Arboretum and as executive director of Descanso Gardens. He has worked in horticulture for over forty-five years.

With a special interest in science education, Schulhof collaborated with public schools in Boston and Los Angeles to develop teacher training programs and life science curricula. Work with the National Endowment for the Humanities, National Endowment for the Arts, and the National Park Service launched programs preserving and interpreting historic landscapes and design history resources. Field research investigated the ecological impacts of invasive organisms on the forests of the Northeast and assessed associated management strategies. Schulhof holds degrees in landscape architecture from U.C. Berkeley, botanic garden administration from the University of Delaware, and in forestry from Harvard University.
At the Arboretum, Schulhof focuses on sustainability and water conservation, preserving the Arboretum’s rich history, and making known the essential role of plants in sustaining life on Earth.

The members of USC Trojan Affiliates invite all interested women to attend this special evening, to enjoy the beauty of the Arboretum, install the 2022-2023 Board of Directors, hear a review of the activities for Trojan Affiliates for 2021-2022, to recognize the new 2021-2022 members, and to make new friends. USC Trojan Affiliates, a women’s organization located in the San Gabriel Valley, supports the University of Southern California and welcomes all interested women to attend its meetings and events. All women parents, alumna, and friends of USC are encouraged to attend. Meetings are usually held the first Thursday evening in October, November, February, March, and May. The first meeting of the 2022-2024 year will take place on Thursday, October 6, 2022.
Ann Palmer, of Sierra Madre, will continue in her second year as President. The Board includes members living throughout the San Gabriel Valley.
