2 Bodies Found In Coastal Peninsula Pond

PESCADERO, CA — The deaths of a man and a woman whose bodies were found in a coastal Peninsula pond late last month are under investigation, authorities said.

The cause of their deaths has not yet been determined, but both likely died of accidental drownings, San Mateo County Sheriff’s Lt. Eamonn Allen told Patch, noting the victims may have slipped amid rugged terrain surrounding the pond.

“There is no evidence of foul play,” Allen said.

Officers at around 8 a.m. Sept. 30 responding to 4525 Cloverdale Road on the report of two people missing after they failed to show up for work, Allen said.

The victims were both employees at a nearby farm.

A Sheriff’s Office dive team found the bodies in the pond, Eamonn said.

Neither victim has yet been publicly identified.
