Ax-Wielding Man Accused Of Assault With A Deadly Weapon In Bay Area: Police
An incident between roommates happened Wednesday afternoon.
REDWOOD CITY, CA — Police arrested a man holding an ax over his head, threatening to strike another resident Wednesday afternoon in Redwood City, police said.
At around 3:36 p.m. Wednesday, Redwood City Police Department officers responded to a 9-1-1 call between two roommates in the 300 block of Redwood Avenue, police said.
Once they arrived, police said they found one resident with an ax held over his head, threatening to hit another resident.

Officers said they determined the suspect had gone into the backyard of the property and officers told neighbors to stay indoors as they established a perimeter. Police said they tried to get the man to comply but he would not.
The RPD Negotiations Unit arrived and after 30 minutes got him to surrender without injury to him, the officers or the victim, police said.

Eduardo Lazoflores, 46, of Redwood City, was transported to a local hospital for medical evaluation and then booked into the San Mateo County Maguire Correctional Facility for charges of assault with a deadly weapon and obstruction of justice, police said.
