Fatal Highway 92 Crash Victim ID'd

A Central Valley man was arrested in connection with the crash, the CHP said.

SAN MATEO COUNTY, CA — An East Bay man killed late Saturday in a suspected Peninsula DUI crash has been identified as Brandon Quismorio, 33 of San Pablo, the San Mateo County Coroner’s Office said.

Gregory James Dooley, 45 of Newman (Stanislaus County), was arrested on suspicion of DUI in connection with the crash, the California Highway Patrol said.

Dooley and his female passenger were both hospitalized with major injuries, police said.

The fatal Highway 92 crash followed a separate “two-vehicle property damage only” collision on the freeway that also involved Quismorio, the CHP said.

Officers determined the driver of an Infiniti G35 had just exited his vehicle after a collision with a Hyundai Elantra when he was fatally struck by a Cadillac Escalade driven by Dooley, the CHP said.

Both vehicles in the initial collision were stopped at the No. 2 and 3 lanes, according to the CHP.

Quismorio, the driver of the Infiniti, was pronounced deceased at the scene by emergency personnel, the CHP said.

The eastbound lanes of the San Mateo Bridge on Highway 92 were closed during the on-scene investigation and were reopened at approximately 4:31a.m., the CHP said.

This crash is under investigation.
