Festival For Dogs And Owners Comes To The Bay Area

SAN MATEO, CA — There is a dog-friendly festival coming Sunday to San Mateo aiming to bring together local families and pet lovers.

Prepare for tail wags and community fun at Central Bark, a dog festival hosted by the San Mateo Police Activities League in partnership with San Mateo Parks and Recreation from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday at Fitzgerald Field in Central Park, San Mateo.

Here is the full schedule of events:

• Noon - Event Begins
  • Raffle opens
  • Dog contest check-in begins

• 12:45 p.m. – Dog contest check-in closes (registration must be made in advance)
  • Best Bark
  • Best Trick
  • Best Look Alike

• 1:00 p.m. – Dog contest begins
• 1:45 p.m. – Raffle ends
• 2:00 p.m. – Raffle winners and dog contest announced
• 3:00 p.m. – Event ends

Dog Contest:

Three winners receive a gift basket filled with dog toys, treats, and a $25 gift certificate for Lazy Dog Restaurant. All contestants receive a free dog meal from Lazy Dog Restaurant. Raffle tickets will be on sale from noon to 1:45 p.m. Winners will be announced at 2 p.m. Tickets will be available for sale at the PAL booth as well as through any of the Police Explorers.
