Grass Fire Ignites In San Mateo County
Fire crews were one the scene responding to the hillside blaze.
SAN MATEO COUNTY, CA — Firefighters responded to a vegetation fire Tuesday afternoon in San Mateo County that was initially reported as threatening structures, fire officials said.
CalFire first reported the fire at 1:53 p.m. on Tuesday in the San Gregorio area in San Mateo County.
As of 2:45 p.m., CalFire reported forward progress had been stopped on the fire, which had grown to 25 acres.

By 1:53 p.m. the fire was reported as 5-10 acres with a slow rate of spread and two structures were threatened.
At 2:10 p.m., the fire was 10 acres with slow to moderate rate of spread and had the potential to spread to 25 acres. No immediate structures were reported threatened at that time, CalFire said.

As of 2:17 p.m., the fire was reported to be 10 acres and 0 percent contained, CalFire said.
