Injured Squirrel Dropped Off At SMC Police Station
The police department reported finding the squirrel left in a box in their foyer.

SAN MATEO, CA — Officers said they were investigating a suspicious package left at the police department when a squirrel jumped out and began to run around the office.
The San Mateo Police Department said that an injured squirrel was left in a box in the foyer of their office.

Police said they called the Peninsula Humane Society & SPCA who captured the injured squirrel and provided it with the medical attention it needed.

"While we appreciate the concern of our unknown community member, if you come across an injured animal, please reach out to the Humane Society as they are better equipped to deal with mischievous or injured animals. We're better equipped to deal with mischievous humans," police said.
