Man Arrested After Stealing From San Mateo Macy's
Police said a man took valuable items from the store and threatened a loss prevention agent with a stun gun before he was apprehended.

SAN MATEO, CA — San Mateo police arrested a man Tuesday night who investigators allege stolen hundreds of dollars in products from a Macy's store and threatened a loss prevention agent with a stun gun.
In a news release Wednesday, police said several officers responded to a reported robbery that the Macy's at Hillsdale Shopping Center shortly after 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. Loss prevention staff told officers a man did not pay for his merchandise and threatened an agent when he was confronted after leaving the store.
A few minutes later, officers reported a man matching the description in the area of Colegrove Street and 36th Avenue. The man was arrested without incident, and officers recovered the stolen items, before booking the man into jail on suspicion of robbery.

Police identified the man accused in the case as Antonio Aguilar Barrios, 26, of San Mateo.
"The San Mateo Police Department was able to locate and arrest Barrios due to the quick reporting of this crime and the accurate information provided to the police department," officials wrote Wednesday. "Macy's Loss Prevention agents' cooperation and assistance were invaluable in this successful resolution."
