Man Asleep At The Wheel Had Drugs For Sale: San Mateo Police

A man accused of being asleep in a running vehicle with an open beer was arrested in the city of San Mateo on Thursday, police said.

SAN MATEO, CA — A man in who was accused of being asleep in a running vehicle with an open beer was arrested in the city of San Mateo on Thursday, police said.

The man, who San Mateo police identified as 45-year-old San Mateo resident Evaristo Solorio-Lozano, was also arrested on allegations that he had various narcotics in his vehicle, along with evidence of drug sales.

A San Mateo police officer was patrolling downtown when he allegedly noticed Solorio-Lozano's vehicle running, with the driver allegedly asleep next to an open beer can.

After speaking to Solorio-Lozano and suspecting him of being under the influence of alcohol, the officer searched the vehicle and allegedly found about 16 grams of suspected methamphetamine, 10 grams of suspected cocaine, cash and evidence of drug sales.

He was arrested on allegations of driving under the influence and possession of narcotics for sale.
