Man Stabbed On Fishing Boat Off San Mateo County Coast: DA
The victim was stabbed in the back of the head in an apparent unprovoked attack, according to San Mateo County prosecutors.

HALF MOON BAY, CA — A Washington man was charged with assault with a deadly weapon on suspicion of stabbing another man while on a squid fishing boat in Half Moon Bay on Tuesday.
According to San Mateo County prosecutors, Orion Carlson, a 39-year-old resident of Chimicum, Washington, stabbed the 40-year-old victim in the back of the head in an apparent unprovoked attack and was heard by a witness making incoherent statements. The victim was treated at the hospital for a laceration to his head.
The incident took place at 1 Johnson Pier, off the San Mateo County coast.

Carlson pleaded not guilty during his arraignment Thursday and remains in custody on $25,000 bail. Carlson claimed that the victim had a knife and he was acting to defend himself, according to the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office.
