Man Stabs Woman On The Peninsula, Police Say
Sheriff's officials say a woman's estranged husband broke into her home and attacked her.

SAN CARLOS, CA — A woman was stabbed by her estranged husband late Monday night in San Carlos, according to the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies responded at 11:52 p.m. to a call from a woman in the 900 block of East San Carlos Avenue after dispatchers could hear a disturbance in the background.
The deputies arrived within two minutes and found inside the apartment that the woman had been stabbed and battered by the estranged husband, who was still at the scene, sheriff's officials said.

The man, whose name was not immediately released, was arrested and the deputies learned he had broken into the apartment purposefully to attack the victim, according to the sheriff's office.
Two children were in the apartment when the attack took place, so the man was arrested on suspicion of child endangerment along with attempted murder and burglary, sheriff's officials said.
