Married Couple Possessed Cocaine, Meth For Sale: San Mateo PD

A married couple was arrested recently on suspicion of possessing methamphetamine and cocaine for sale.

SAN MATEO, CA — Police arrested two suspects from San Francisco last week for allegedly possessing narcotics for sale.

Norma Herrera, 47, and Jose Lopez-Lopez, 35, whom police said were a married couple, were arrested on Nov. 17, San Mateo police said.

Police conducted a proactive traffic stop of the duo's vehicle near the intersection of South Norfolk Street and 3rd Avenue in San Mateo due to a suspected equipment violation.

The driver, Lopez-Lopez, consented to the officers to search the vehicle and later himself and Herrera.

The search yielded 18.9 grams of cocaine, 0.9 grams of methamphetamine, several plastic baggies, a digital scale and $8,723 in cash.

Herrera and Lopez-Lopez were booked into San Mateo County Jail under the suspicion of possession of narcotics for sale and possession of controlled substance for sale.
