Meth, Loaded Gun Found During San Mateo County Traffic Stop: Police

The incident, involving a convicted felon, happened on Tuesday.

SAN MATEO, CA — A police sergeant found methamphetamine and a loaded gun after pulling over a 40-year-old man Tuesday in San Mateo.

At 9:03 p.m. on Tuesday, police said they pulled over a car near Highway 92 and Alameda de las Pulgas for multiple vehicle violations.

The sergeant identified the driver as Jason Longbrake, 40, of San Mateo. Upon approaching the car, the sergeant said he saw multiple baggies containing suspected meth residue in plain view.

As the sergeant searched the car, they said they found suspected meth, drug paraphernalia and a loaded revolver. A record search revealed Longbrake had previously been convicted of a felony, police said.

Police said the illegal items were confiscated and Longbrake was arrested for being a felon possessing a firearm and ammunition, possessing a controlled substance with a firearm, possessing unlawful paraphernalia and possessing a controlled substance.

Longbrake was booked into the San Mateo County Jail, police said.
