SAN MATEO, CA — A multi-vehicle traffic accident in San Mateo that involved a distracted driver has prompted police to issue a an advisory.
The crash at El Camino Real and 31st Avenue occurred Wednesday afternoon, according to police.
The driver of a vehicle traveling northbound on El Camino Real was distracted by using her GPS and collided with another vehicle at the intersection, police said.

“GPS is a helpful aid for navigation,” the San Mateo Police Department wrote on the agency’s Facebook page.
