New Details Emerge In HMB Mass Shooting: Reports
The shooting followed a dispute over $100 to repair damaged farm equipment the suspect was told he had to pay, NBC Bay Area reports.

HALF MOON BAY, CA — New details have emerged in the deadliest mass shooting in San Mateo County history, according to published reports.
Seven people were fatally shot Monday in the Half Moon Bay at the hands of Chunli Zhao, 66, according to the San Mateo County District Attorney’s Office.
Zhao is facing seven counts of murder and one count of attempted murder in connection with the Half Moon Bay shooting, prosecutors said. Zhao is being held without bail.

If convicted, he faces life without parole, or the death penalty. Zhao made his first court appearance Wednesday but did not issue a plea. His arraignment was continued to Feb. 16.

Zhao told investigators he didn’t’ believe he was responsible for the collision, and went on the shooting spree after his boss rejected his argument, according to the report.
One of the locations at which Monday’s shooting occurred has a history of gun violence between co-workers, KRON reports.
California Terra Gardens, the location formerly known as Mountain Mushroom Farm, was the site of shooting between co-workers just six months ago, according to the report.
Martin Medina, a 49-year-old manager, is facing attempted murder charges, the report said. He is being held in lieu of $5 million bail.
The San Mateo County Coroner’s Office on Wednesday identified six of the seven Half Moon Bay fatalities as Yetao Bing, 43 (unknown residence), Qizhong Cheng, 66 of Half Moon Bay, Marciano Martinez Jimenez, 50 (Moss Beach), Jingzhi Lu, 64 (Half Moon Bay), Zhishen Liu, 73 (San Francisco), and Aixiang Zhang, 74 (San Francisco).
Jose Romero Perez, a man his late 30s, has been identified as the seventh victim by The Mercury News.
