Nicole Fernandez Launches Campaign for San Mateo City Council
Fernandez to Seek Council District 2 Seat

SAN MATEO, CA – Nicole Fernandez, former San Mateo Community Relations Commissioner and current District Director for State Senator Josh Becker, is announcing her campaign for the San Mateo City Council in District 2.
Fernandez has a wealth of experience in public policy and budgeting. With her years of working in both local and state government, Fernandez has the background to be an effective representative for San Mateo on Day One.
Her priorities for San Mateo, and specifically for District 2, are addressing the housing and homelessness crisis, championing flood protections for local residents, maintaining and improving public safety, improving transit options, and attracting businesses to support local job growth.

About Nicole Fernandez
Nicole Fernandez is a lifelong resident of San Mateo County having been born at Mills Hospital and raised in Belmont. She bought her first home in 2012 in what is now District 2.
Nicole is a career public servant, having previously worked for the late Assemblymember Ira Ruskin, Senator Jerry Hill, and currently for Senator Josh Becker. Fernandez also previously served her community working on elder abuse prevention with San Mateo County Adult Protective Services. She also is currently serving on the Board of Directors for Samaritan House–the largest anti-poverty nonprofit in San Mateo County.
Fernandez is a first-generation American and the first person in her family to graduate from college. She has a degree in Political Science from San Jose State University. She is proud to have attended local public schools throughout her educational career.
