Pacifica Burglary Crew Eludes Cops After Pursuit Takes Dangerous Turn
Officers at around 2:10 a.m. Dec. 9 responded to 2480 Skyline Boulevard on the report of a commercial burglary in progress, police said.
PACIFICA, CA — The pursuit of a Peninsula burglary crew early Friday was called off after the suspect vehicle took a dangerous turn, Pacifica police said.
The pursuit was abandoned in the interest of public safety after the suspect vehicle entered Interstate 280 driving northbound in the southbound lanes, police said.
The suspects were sought in connection with a convenience store burglary that resulted in damage to the storefront and an undisclosed loss, police said.

An alert witness reported seeing several people in the parking lot with tools attempting to force entry into the convenience store by using a vehicle to pull the doors open, police said.

An officer while responding to the call spotted a vehicle matching the description of a suspect vehicle that fled the area at a high rate of speed, leading authorities on a brief pursuit.
“In the interest of public safety, this pursuit was quickly terminated by the pursuing officer when the suspect vehicle entered I-280 and began driving northbound in the southbound lanes of traffic,” police said.
The investigation of this case is ongoing, police said.
