​Parolee Accused Of Shoplifting At Hillsdale Mall​ In San Mateo

Police arrested an Oakland resident on suspicion of shoplifting at a Macy's in 115 Hillsdale Mall in San Mateo, authorities said.

SAN MATEO, CA — Police arrest an Oakland resident on suspicion of shoplifting at a Macy's in 115 Hillsdale Mall in San Mateo, officers announced.

Tommy Lee Walter III, 34, was reportedly detained by the shop's Loss Prevention Officers when they called the San Mateo Police Department.

Walter allegedly had a black sticky substance and pepper spray, according to the loss prevention officers.

Police also reportedly recovered suspected heroin during investigation.

A search of Walter revealed a programmable vehicle key fob, leading officers to a stolen black Acura MDX in the parking lot, police said.

Inside the vehicle, police allegedly located forged license plates matching Southern California Acura SUVs, as well as suspected MDMA and methamphetamine, officers noted.

During the investigation, police discovered Walter was on parole for weapons charges, probation for possession of a stolen vehicle, and had two no-bail warrants.

Walter was booked into the San Mateo County Jail on suspicions of possession of a stolen vehicle, parole violation, and possession of controlled substances.
