Pedestrian Killed In Peninsula Crash ID’d

The Tuesday morning crash shuttered Highway 35 (Skyline Boulevard) between Hickey Boulevard and King Drive for several hours.

PACIFICA, CA — A pedestrian who was killed early Tuesday morning in a Peninsula traffic collision has been identified as Susan Chavez, 60 of Pacifica, the San Mateo County Coroner’s Office said.

The crash shuttered Highway 35 (Skyline Boulevard) between Hickey Boulevard and King Drive for several hours, according to the Pacifica Police Department.

Officers responding around 3:30 a.m. Tuesday to the report of a collision involving a pedestrian located the victim in the roadway unconscious and not breathing.

First responders from the Daly City Police Department, North County Fire Authority and AMR attempted life-saving measures but the victim was later pronounced deceased at the scene.

Pacifica Police personnel responded to the scene to conduct this investigation.

The driver showed no signs of impairment and cooperated with investigators, police said.
