Peninsula Attempted Robbery Suspect Accused Of Assaulting Victim: Cops

DALY CITY, CA — An attempted robbery suspect accused of assaulting his victim near a Peninsula shopping center last week has been arrested, Daly City police said.

The suspect, identified as a 48-year-old transient, was arrested on suspicion of attempted robbery and booked into jail, according to police.

The victim at around 9 a.m. Sept. 30 reported the attempted robbery that she said occurred earlier that day on the west sidewalk of Park Plaza Drive near Westlake Shopping Center, police said.

After an unsuccessful attempt to grab the victim’s purse, the suspect grabbed her hair as she tried to walk away, pulling her to the ground and punching her in face at least twice while sitting on her chest, police said.

Officers located and arrested the suspect.
