Police Called To Hillsdale Macy's Twice In A Day For Alleged Thefts
In the second incident, police allege a San Francisco man stole more than $1,200 worth of goods from the store.
SAN MATEO, CA — San Mateo officers arrested two people on two separate calls for alleged thefts at Macy's in the Hillsdale Shopping Center earlier this week, according to police.
The first call for police came just after 4 p.m. Tuesday, when 19-year-old San Mateo resident Jose Duarte-Umul was stopped by store security for allegedly taking over $500 worth of merchandise from the store.
Duarte-Umul reportedly fought with the store's security outside the store before officers arrived. He was taken into custody on allegations of second-degree robbery.

Officers were called back to Macy's a few hours later, at about 7 p.m., when a 41-year-old San Francisco resident, Christopher Boyle, was accused of taking over $1,200 worth of goods from the store. He is facing allegations of organized retail theft.
Both were booked into San Mateo County Jail.
