Prescribed Burn Scheduled For Tuesday Morning In San Mateo County
Light smoke may be visible in parts of San Mateo, Belmont, San Carlos and Burlingame during the burn at San Andreas Lake Dam.
SAN MATEO COUNTY, CA — The San Mateo County Fire Department and Cal Fire are scheduled to conduct a five-acre prescribed fire on the San Andreas Lake Dam on Tuesday morning.
Light smoke may be visible in parts of San Mateo, Belmont, San Carlos and Burlingame during the burn, which is scheduled to last through the morning hours.
The burn’s purpose is to reduce fire danger by consuming cured grass and removing vegetation. It will also maintain access for inspections and monitoring of the dam, according to the San Mateo County Fire Department.
