Road Rage Leads To Assault With A Deadly Weapon In San Mateo County: Police
Police received a report of a man brandishing a knife during an argument.
SAN MATEO, CA — A road rage incident resulted in two men arrested after they both reportedly threw fists and one swung a sharp object at two separate people Monday in San Mateo, police said.
At 10:53 a.m. on Tuesday, San Mateo Police Department officers said they responded to the area of S. Railroad Avenue and Birch Avenue after receiving a report that a man was brandishing a knife during an argument.

Police said they arrived on the scene and detained Ramiro Antonfrancisco, 21, and Willy Gomezperez, 21, both of San Mateo.

Police said they spoke to several witnesses and reviewed surveillance footage to learn that during a road rage incident Antonfrancisco swung a sharp object at two separate people, and that both Antonfrancisco and Gomezperez tried to strike one of the victims with their fists.
Police said they arrested Antonfrancisco and Gomezperez for violations of assault with a deadly weapon and conspiracy to commit a crime, booking them into the San Mateo County Jail.

"We ask our community members to stay alert. We need community support in reporting crimes and suspicious activities. If you see a suspicious person, vehicle, or activity, call SMPD," said Andrew Peek, an SMPD public information officer.
