San Mateo Mayor Launches GoFundMe In Support Of Storm Victims
The GoFundMe has raised more than $43,000 as of Monday, exceeding its $25,000 goal.

SAN MATEO, CA — San Mateo’s top elected official has launched a GoFundMe to help those impacted by the ongoing storms.
Mayor Amourence Lee’s Support San Mateo Flood Victims will benefit those who have suffered damage to their homes or businesses.
The GoFundMe has raised more than $43,000 as of Monday, exceeding its $25,000 goal.

Lee indicated she plans to seek approval for an emergency study session to discuss an allocation from the City to issue grants to flood victims.
“As the Mayor of the City of San Mateo, the largest city in San Mateo County, I believe in the generosity and resiliency of our community,” Lee wrote in the GoFundMe.

“We cannot wait for FEMA or the State, we need to step up when we see our neighbors and our local businesses in need. That is the San Mateo Way. San Mateans want to help folks get back on their feet.”
She’s calling for immediate action to help those in need.
“The need is so great and your donation will make a difference,” Lee said.
“Together we can help flood victims in the City of San Mateo receive relief and support.”
