SAN MATEO, CA — The San Mateo Police Department will hold a driving under the influence checkpoint on April 18 in the area of S. Norfolk Street and E Hillsdale Boulevard.

“Impaired drivers put others on the road at significant risk, as well as themselves,” said Nick Ryan, an SMPD traffic sergeant. “Any prevention measures that reduces the number of impaired drivers on our roads significantly improves traffic safety.”

The SMPD will hold the DUI checkpoint from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. starting on the Friday of Easter weekend.
