SAN MATEO, CA — Police in San Mateo on Thursday arrested two suspects in connection with drug and property crimes.

Jesus Acosta-Pasos, 28, of San Mateo County, and Julie Kennelly, 43, of Half Moon Bay, were arrested on suspicion of receiving a stolen vehicle and possession of methamphetamine.

Acosta-Pasos was additionally arrested on suspicion of possession of burglary tools and resisting, delaying or obstructing an officer.

On Thursday at 1:07 p.m., officers with the San Mateo Police Department learned there was a reported stolen vehicle near the Bridgepointe Shopping Center.

Responding officers located the vehicle and detained the driver, identified as Kennelly.

Police said Acosta-Pasos, who was also connected to the stolen vehicle, was inside one of the stores at the shopping center.

When Acosta-Pasos saw the officers, he fled into an underground garage in a nearby apartment building, police said.

He surrendered to officers inside the garage but tried to flee from officers again shortly after he initially surrendered.
