San Mateo Shopping Center Crash Seriously Injures 3

The crash occurred at Bridgepointe Shopping Center in the north end of the lot.

SAN MATEO, CA — A traffic collision at a Peninsula shopping center sent three people to a local trauma center, San Mateo police said.

Officers at around 12:03 p.m. Wednesday responded to Bridgepointe Shopping Center on the report of a crash involving a pedestrian, police said.

Upon arrival, officers discovered a major collision scene at the north end of the lot involved three vehicles, police said.

The crash occurred at the north end of the lot near the Target store.

Investigators are expected to be on the scene for several hours, police said.

The west entrance/driveway to Bridgepointe Shopping Center is currently closed and will remain so until officers clear the scene.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area until later this evening, police said.
