Search for Michelle Le Resumes Saturday

Almost 30 days after she went missing, the family of Michelle Le continues to search for any evidence leading to her whereabouts.

“We are continuing to maintain hope and determination in bringing her back to us,” said Le’s cousin Krystine Dinh.

A search party is scheduled for this Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The search location will be shared with volunteers upon arrival at the command center located at 25350 Cypress Ave. in Hayward.

The search is being conducted to help eliminate search areas for Hayward police.

“We work with Hayward PD to guide us on where to search so we’re not searching blindly,” Dinh said. Locations are not released publicly so that potential evidence in the search areas are not tampered with, Dinh said.

Last weekend, the family conducted a with the help of more than 450 community volunteers, Dinh said. The family also received assistance from the KlaasKids Foundation, a Sausalito-based organization dedicated to stopping crimes against children, as well as Team Amber and the G.I. Joe Search Foundation.

“We got a lot of ground covered,” Dinh said.

Le, 26, was last seen around 7 p.m. on May 27 while attending clinical rotations at the Kaiser Medical Center in Hayward. Fellow nursing students said she stepped out to grab something from her car, which was parked in the garage next to the hospital.

Family members have said they believe she is still alive, despite Hayward police classifying the case as a homicide. Police say they have interviewed dozens of people in connection with the case but have yet to make any arrests.

On Tuesday, the family of the Danville-based The Framé Group to help in the case. Framé is working independently of the Hayward Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Dinh said.

The family said it will continue to hold events until she is found

“We’re staying positive,” Dinh said. “Our family doesn’t go down without a fight.”

Those wishing to volunteer Saturday must be at least 18 years old and bring photo identification. Individuals are advised to dress appropriately by wearing long pants and boots or sturdy, closed-toe shoes. Volunteers may also assist in the command center or distribute fliers.
