SMC Coroner Moves In To New Facility
The new facility offers updated technology to assist the coroner in determining a person's cause of death with more certainty.

SAN MATEO, CA — The San Mateo County Coroner's Office cut the ribbon on its new home in San Mateo during a ceremony with local leaders on Tuesday. Coroner Robert Foucrault was joined by the Board of Supervisors at his new office and pathology suite, recently completed at the San Mateo Medical Center.
Officials said the state-of-the-art facility features updated technology to improve work in homicide cases and help determine causes of death.
The facility houses a new isolation autopsy suite and a "Lodox eXero-dr" forensic imaging system, which provides comprehensive images that officials say will cut down on the "guesswork" and make for more certain determinations.
