Woman Swings Bottle Of Alcohol At Grocery Store Employee In San Mateo: Police
The woman was stopped after she attempted to steal booze from the store, police said.
SAN MATEO, CA — A woman committed a robbery and assault with a deadly weapon against a grocery store loss prevention employee while shoplifting in San Mateo, police said.
At around 3:56 p.m. on Tuesday, San Mateo Police Department officers said they responded to a report that alcohol was being stolen from the Safeway located at 1655 El Camino Real.
Police said Shannon Householder, 32, of San Carlos, had attempted to strike a Safeway loss prevention employee with a bottle of alcohol during the theft. Police said that Householder then fled on foot with around $130 worth of booze and assaulted another loss prevention employee during an altercation in the parking lot.

Officers said they arrived and detained Householder near the intersection of 18th Avenue and Palm Avenue. Police said they found the stolen alcohol on Householder and through store surveillance video they confirmed probable cause to arrest her for robbery and assault with a deadly weapon.
