2 Vehicle Theft Suspects Arrested In Marin

NOVATO, CA — Two out-of-state residents were arrested in connection with the theft of a U-Haul truck out of Utah, the Novato Police Department said.

Ricky Williams, 38, and 45-year-old Melissa Williams, both from Kaufman, Texas, were arrested on suspicion of possessing a stolen vehicle and conspiracy to commit a crime, police said.

Both suspects were booked into the Marin County Jail according to police.

A patrol of Novato Fair Shopping Center amid an increase in reported property crimes in the area led to the arrests according to police.

Officers determined that the suspects rented the truck for a day, never returned it to the owner and drove it from Utah according to police.
