4 Arrested In Child Predator Sting In Marin County
Law enforcement agencies conducted Operation Broken Heart to catch sexual predators using online chat platforms to exploit children.

MARIN COUNTY, CA — Four men were arrested during an undercover sting targeting sexual predators trying to meet children for lewd acts, officials announced.
Law enforcement agencies throughout Marin County conducted Operation Broken Heart on Feb. 13 to catch sexual predators using online chat platforms to exploit minors, according to the Marin County District Attorney's Office.
Owen Michael Dombrowski, 26, of San Rafael, Nassor Ngabira, 24, of Santa Rosa, Melvin Rodriguez-Delafuente, 27, of Richmond, and Jose Luis Ruiz Magallon, 38, of Oakland, were charged with felony violations of attempting to contact and communicate with a minor for the purpose of engaging in lewd and lascivious behavior, as well as felony violations of arranging to meet with a minor for that same purpose, according to the district attorney's office.

Rodriguez-Delafuente was also charged with a misdemeanor violation of attempting to furnish alcohol to a minor.
"The operation was carried out in response to the escalating threat of online exploitation of children by perpetrators who use their anonymity to gain access to children," a news release from the district attorney's office said.

"District Attorney Lori Frugoli said this is a good time to remind parents and caregivers to continuously educate themselves and their children on the dangers of the internet, to monitor their children's usage, and to have open conversations about the risks associated with online-chat platforms."
