SAN RAFAEL, CA — The city of San Rafael is seeking applicants to fill vacancies on two commissions and one board.
The openings are on the Planning and Park and Recreation commissions and the Design and Review Board.

The Planning and Park and Recreation commissions are both seeking to fill four-year terms; the planning commission term starts July 1 and the Park and Recreation term begins at an unspecified date in June, according to the city’s website.
The Design Review Board has a four-year opening for a term that starts July 1.

The May 13 deadline to apply for all three positions may be extended, city officials said.
Planning Commission members are appointed by the City Council to make decisions or advise the council on land use and property development issues.
The Park and Recreation Commission’s responsibilities include developing and implementing the long-range plans for parks and recreation facilities.
The Design Review Board consists of design professionals appointed by the city council to provide advice on new development projects.
