Bail Increased for San Rafael Man Suspected of Robbing Greenbrae Bank
Thomas Hobson was arrested Saturday on suspicion of bank robbery and possession of a false bomb.

San Rafael resident Thomas Hobson, 51, is scheduled to appear in Marin County Superior Court next week to enter a plea after being charged with robbing and threatening to blow up the Wells Fargo Bank branch at the Greenbrae Bon Air Shopping Center on Saturday.
A judge Wednesday increased Hobson's bail from $75,000 to $350,000, according to the Marin IJ.
The Central Marin Police responded to several panic alarms from inside the bank on April 28. According to police reports, "A bank employee also called to report that a robbery was in progress. The bank employee later told dispatch that the suspect demanded money and placed a gummy substance on the teller counter which he told them was a bomb that would explode in five minutes."
