Driver Arrested After Fleeing Police at 100 MPH

Driver arrested on felony drug charge.

A driver who fled Mill Valley Police Friday morning, hitting speeds of more than 100 mph on northbound Highway 101, was later arrested on charges including felony drug possession.

According to Mill Valley Police,  police tried to pull over Ryan Penaluna, 21, around 2 a.m. on Miller Avenue on suspicion of driving under the influence, but he failed to yield and took off on Highway 101.

They stopped the pursuit and notified other area law enforcement officers, and the vehicle was found in San Rafael, where it had been crashed and abandoned.

A witness helped them find Penaluna and arrest him.
