Drug Cache, Guns Seized From Teen's Home: Bay Area Police

The sheriff's office said more than 1,600 Xanax pills and 20 grams of suspected cocaine were recovered from the 18-year-old's home.

SAN RAFAEL, CA — A San Rafael 18-year-old faces multiple drug and weapons charges after authorities allege he was caught with hundreds of pills and other drugs, along with two unregistered handguns.

According to the Marin County Sheriff's Office, an undercover detective bought cocaine and Xanax pills from the suspect during an investigation that began earlier this month. After the sale, investigators secured a search warrant for his San Rafael home.

While executing the warrant, detectives seized more than 1,600 Xanax pills, 20 grams of suspected cocaine, 400 doses of suspected LSD, 40 grams of MDMA, two pounds of psilocybin mushrooms and 25 grams of Ketamine, officials said. Investigators also reported finding more than $7,000 in cash and two unregistered 9mm handguns carried by two suspects.

The sheriff's office identified the suspect as James Holden Gardner, 18, of San Rafael. He was booked alongside a second suspect, Miguel Sanchez Ceja, on suspicion of multiple drug and weapon offenses.

The operation was a collaboration between multiple agencies that support Marin County's Specialized Investigative Unit.
