Marin Alert System Changes: Where to Sign-Up
Cities will continue to use Nixle, so this will be an additional sign-up.
MARIN COUNTY, CA — Marin County has announced a move away from Nixle as its platform to send emergency alerts, saying people should now sign up at a new site to receive alerts about the county Sheriff's Office and Fire Department.
The Marin County Office of Emergency Management sent out a message late Thursday about the transition to AlertMarin and said people can sign up at Emergency.MarinCounty.gov.
The county said the transition "is part of our commitment to providing reliable, real-time emergency information through a single, trusted source."

Cities within Marin County will still have their own ways to send alerts and Mill Valley sent a message Friday to clarify that the city will continue using Nixle, saying they "have received many questions from our community" regarding the county's announcement.
People can text their ZIP code to 888-777 or visit https://local.nixle.com/regist... to sign up for Nixle alerts.
