Marin To Appoint Property Assessment Board Members
The seats will hear appeals by property owners about value assessments.
MARIN COUNTY, CA — The application for candidates interested in being a member of the Assessment Appeals Board in Marin County is Aug. 1, according to county officials.
The Board of Supervisors will appoint members to the appeals board who hear appeals from property owners about value assessments from the County Assessor's office.
In recent years, there have been hearings every four weeks due to the size of the caseload, officials said.

Those interested in applying must be:
- certified public accountant or public accountant;
- licensed real estate broker;
- attorney;
- property appraiser accredited by a nationally recognized professional organization; or
- a property appraiser certified by the Office of Real Estate Appraisers or by the State Board of Equalization.
