Marin Complaints Over Scooters, E-Bikes Trigger Police Advisory

Central Marin Police Authority said it will implement a "zero-tolerance policy" in its enforcement of traffic safely laws.

MARIN COUNTY, CA — Authorities have issued an advisory amid growing complaints of traffic hazards caused by kids unsafely operating scooters and e-bikes.

The Central Marin Police Authority last week issued an alert the agency titled “Public Education on E-Bikes and Scooters” after the agency said it received “multiple reports of kids operating scooters and electric cycles in an unsafe and illegal manner.”

The agency said it will implement a “zero-tolerance policy” in its enforcement of traffic safely laws.

“Now that the school year is in full swing, more kids are riding these modes of transportation to and from school,” the agency said.

“The Central Marin Police is seeking help from parents to ensure that the safety of our children is protected, and the laws are being adhered to. We will be vigorously enforcing the traffic safety laws and ensuring everyone’s safety with a zero-tolerance policy.”
