Here Is The Full List Of Marin County Protests Planned For May Day

MARIN COUNTY, CA — There are many protests occurring Thursday across the U.S., including several in Marin County.

Protests taking part of the “May Day Strong: We Are The Many” are planned in Novato, San Rafael and Corte Madera.

There will be protests on many Highway US-101 overpasses, but there are two rallies also planned in San Rafael and Novato.

Here is the full list:

Overpass protests:

• 6:30 a.m. San Rafael Pedestrian Walkway Highway US-101 Between Central San Rafael and Lincoln Southbound and North San Pedro Northbound. RSVP here
• 4 p.m. Tamalpais Highway US-101 Overpass, Corte Madera. RSVP here
• 4:30 p.m. De Long Avenue Highway US-101 Overpass Novato. RSVP here
• 4:30 p.m. Rowland Boulevard Highway US-101 Overpass Novato. RSVP here

Peaceful rallies:

• 4 p.m. 1000 4th St., San Rafael City Plaza. RSVP here

“The absolute speed with which this administration and his billionaire friends are dismantling critical government functions means it's vital for everyone who disagrees to show up in numbers too big to ignore. I wholeheartedly believe in the tagline from the May Day Strong organizers: We are the many,” said Patty Hoyt, a protest organizer.

Organizers announced Thursday protests would take place throughout Marin county to join the 650 other cities participating nationwide.

“Just four months into the Trump Administration, the May Day action emerges as American families face cuts to programs for low-income students, reductions in Social Security, Medicaid, and Medicare, attacks on unionized international graduate students and calls for additional tax cuts for millionaires and billionaires,” a press release stated.

Protests have been organized by Indivisible Novato, Be the Change, Indivisible West Marin, Marin Democratic Party, Indivisible Sausalito. Progressive Democracy for America-Marin and Marin County Young Democrats.

There is a virtual meeting planned for Tuesday.
